Dennis Brunt doesn’t have anywhere near the legal accolades of his fellow attorneys at the Chicago law firm Engstrom, Stackley & Brunt. That’s why he’s amazed when business client Gerhard Schmidt asks senior partner Morley Engstrom to assign Dennis to his case. The charges? Schmidt’s been accused of illegal arms trading, money laundering, and drug dealing. The case brings its share of heat—including a politically ambitious federal attorney.
